About
John D. is a highly respected aviation professional and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner serving the dynamic South Florida aviation community. With over three decades of logged flight time, John brings a wealth of real-world experience to the flight deck, ranging from Part 135 charter operations throughout the Caribbean to serving as a Chief Flight Instructor for premier collegiate aeronautics programs in the Miami area. Appointed as a DPE in 2018, John is authorized to conduct Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Multi-Engine practical tests. He is deeply committed to evaluating applicants strictly to the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS). Known for his calm demeanor in the right seat and incredibly thorough debriefings, John believes that a checkride is not just an evaluation, but a critical educational touchpoint.
